Cecilia Alonso is the winner of the I Prize Diquesí de Novela Juvenil organized by Escuela de Escritores and Ediciones Diquesí. The Jury, composed of writers and professors from the Children’s and Young Adult Literature department of the School, Chiki Fabregat and Javier Fonseca, and editor María José Benito, decided to award the prize to her work “Antxón, el Zombie.”

“The endearing characters, the resolution of conflicts by the protagonist, and the fresh yet careful language used in the narration of his original adventures make ‘Antxón, el Zombie’ perfectly adapted to the objectives pursued in the contest’s call,” said the Jury members.

The Diquesí Prize for Young Adult Novel is endowed with 1,500 euros and the publication of the winning work. With this contest, Ediciones Diquesí and Escuela de Escritores aim to promote the dissemination of quality works aimed at young readers. In this first edition of the contest, 28 novels from Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina were submitted.
